Though the classic shelfie still holds undeniable clout on our social media feeds, recently there’s been a definite shift in the way we’re showcasing our interiors online. It’s as if our focus has zoomed outwards a little: stylishly arranged and usually featuring some variant of house plant, well put-together corners keep grabbing our attention. But are they as effortless as they appear on our Instagram feeds?
With this in mind, each week we’ll be asking one influencer to talk us through the most curated spot in their house. For our latest Story of a Corner, model Daisy Lowe has showed us how she put together her favourite corner of her bathroom...
The statement wallpaper
Alongside my kitchen, my bathroom really takes pride of place in my home. It’s my sanctuary, somewhere I can relax and take time away from my busy schedule. The wallpaper is from Farrow & Ball, as is the black paint I used for my dado rail. I wanted this to be a feature of the bathroom along with the stainless-steel mirror that sits almost on top of the bath to accessorise the room and make it feel warm.
The refurbishment process
I love things in my home to have a lot of character and to also feel very personal to me. Since renovating my new home, I have loved using my instax camera to document the refurbishments so I have the physical images as memories of this time. It’s also perfect for snapping pieces and looks I’m inspired by as allows me to create a mood board.

The furniture
I am an avid vintage shopper, both for furniture and clothes, and I am also partial to a scroll through Etsy or eBay to find little gems. The leopard print chair in my bathroom I found on eBay and fell completely in love. I then had the fabric made in Hong Kong and had the chair reupholstered to fit the aesthetic of the room.
The vintage finds
The dresser I found in an antique shop in Bath called Kiss the Frog. It has sadly shut down now but was always a go to for me. My mum and I often travel to Bath or to Frome to rummage through the vintage shops we love. She is amazing at interiors and so I take a lot of inspiration and advice from her. The curtains I used in my bathroom are actually from my mum’s lace collection, available on her website.
