In my humble opinion, the world of homewares has become something of a minefield. Thanks in large part to social media, there is now a collective proclivity to document the inside of one's home which, in turn, has led to a great deal of competition when it comes to unearthing the loveliest of things to fill said space. On the high street, in particular, you need to act quickly in order to acquire the best pieces, which is why I believe I'm being extremely benevolent in sharing news of Zara Home's new collaboration.
Affordable homewares which are beautiful, too, are not commonplace. Rejoice, then, that Collagerie – the brand founded by former Vogue editors Lucinda Chambers and Serena Hood – has lent its gloriously colourful aesthetic to Zara Home's signature brand of chic homewares. The result is a sun-dappled collection including everything from small furniture to candlesticks, each piece as wonderfully stylish as the last.
There are chequered ceramic vases, chic rattan placemats, woven chairs with a hint of colour and two-tone glasses which will instantly enliven any tablescape. It's a collection which somehow manages to fuse maximalism with minimalism, resulting in clever pieces which will fit seamlessly into any home, adding a distinct sense of style and warmth to any space.
In short, this is one of the best home ranges I've seen for a long time, particularly when you consider the price range. Glasses are just £9.99, cotton cushion covers are less than £45.99, the most excellent table lamp is just less than £50 and the stand-out woven chair is £189.99. To find truly stylish furniture for less than £200 feels like nothing short of a miracle.
Hyperbole aside, it won't be long until the rest of the world recognises the brilliance of this collaboration. So, if you are looking for an easy (and affordable) way to improve your living space, you may want to act quickly. From the ceiling lamps to the the geometric side tables, Zara Home x Collagerie is ticking all the right boxes.
