What is the single most significant moment on the journey to becoming an adult? Is it when you hold your first dinner party that doesn’t end up with your mates and a bunch of randomers ashing spliffs onto half finished plates of food at 4AM? No. How about the first time a teenager tells you about a rapper you haven't heard of? Also no. Although be prepared for that to start happening with alarming regularlity. Instead, it’s when you finally chuck the Blue-tak, take down your photo n' perfume advert collage and start looking for new ways to display the stuff on your wall.

Here’s some cheap ways to grownupify your wall decorations that are suitable for adults but aren't boring as hell.

These teeny tiny shelves

Good for displaying vinyls and things painted on canvases. The clever little ridge stops things falling off the edge you see.

These friendly cats

Cats make the greatest pals don’t they? Especially these guys who want nothing more than to make your photo display look sass-tastic.

This hanger mobile

In all fairness you could probably make one of these yourself but just in case you’re a total craft-idiot, here’s one you can buy. Just make sure your ceilings are high enough that you don’t keep bashing your head on your new art piece. Because that's what it is you clever little monkey.

These clip hangers

Just make sure they’re nice hangers, not plastic ones from Primark. Here's some nice ones.

This Japanese washi tape

Washi tape is like crack for Pinterest users. It’s featured on pretty much every other pin. It comes in loads of pretty colours and won’t rip any paint off the walls so it’s genius for renters*. Get some here.

It’s not meant* to rip any paint off the walls. Don’t come crying to us if it does though, we’re just the messenger.
