You terrible daughter you. Totally forgot about Mother's Day didn't you? Luckily we here at The Debrief aren't so forgetful (plus we've had about seven zillion press releases come into our inbox to remind us - did you know that your mum would probably really appreciate a vibrating bicycle seat come next Sunday?)
Here's a few gift ideas that'll put you back in her good books after that last time you came home and spent the whole weekend in bed hungover.
For The Fun Mum: Magic Radio's Mellow Magic CD
For the mum who loves nothing better than a night at a nice wine bar with her girlfriends. Best teamed with a bottle of wine. Watch mum drink the wine then watch her dance along. It'll be spectacular. Plus you can steal the CD after. Here's some of the songs available - I mean - you know just in case you wanted to listen first/host a girl power anthem night in your bedroom for you and you alone.
For The Fashion Mum: DvF Essentials Kit
Since everything she owns is designer, her tastes don't tend to agree wildly with your bank balance - especially after you booked flights to Primavera last week. Oops. This DvF pouch however, is only £25 and contains all the things mums tend to carry to make up for your failings. Like nail varnish remover for when you're popping round the Auntie Jean's for Sunday Lunch with decals spelling naughty words on.
For The Family Mum: Family Wooden Spoons
She's got so many black and white portraits of you guys looking faux happy on the landing wall that there's almost no trace of the time you drew all over it in her lipstick aged three. These wooden spoons means you can show how much you totally get her love of the family bond and you can always use the one with your sister's face on to scrape three-day-old lasagne off the bottom of the pan.
For The Gardening Mum: Floral Secateurs
Everything items of clothing she owns is covered in a thin layer of dirt and ringing during the day on a Sunday is just a massive no-no since she'll absolutely be outside pruning her rose bushes. Enter the V&A's gardening range which serves nicely as definitive proof you take her hobbies into account.
The Foodie Mum: Slow Cooker
Thanks in part to pulled pork, slow cookers are big business again. But if your mum's anything like ours she's probably still using her one from the 70's with the sparky plug. Bin it and the risk of a house fire in the dead of night and wake her up on Mother's Day with this brand spanking new one. She doesn't HAVE to slow cook you a meal in return but you know, she should probably try it out sooner rather than later.
