For all of you guys out there who spent yesterday in a miserable grump because even though you left school many moons ago you still can’t extricate September 1st from your mind as being the date you’re meant to go with your mum to WHSmiths and get new stationery for the school year, this one goes out to you.

Here's some stationery to qualm those jealous pangs.

These grown-up pens that still show off your creative side

Remember sometime around age 14 when Purple Ronnie pencil cases and fluffy topped pens were eschewed by you and your gang in favour of a sleeker look for your stationary collection? Perhaps a plain black folder which worked as a fabulous canvas for your new set of glow in the dark gel pens. Anyways, despite your new sophisticated nature, the odd novelty pen or pencil still didn’t go amiss. These ones from Tiger straddle the line between 'sensible' and 'creative' most perfectly.

These notebooks which are possibly the new Moleskines

There used to be a time when you couldn’t move for the Moleskines you’d acquired over various birthday/Christmas/art museum gift shop visits. You carried them diligently around in your handbag in case you had any mindblowing ideas that needed writing down. Yeah, they remained a bit empty didn’t they? Still there’s nothing that beats the excitement and possibility a new notebook brings and these sassy Zap ones are definitely our fave, plus they're a darn sight lighter to carry around with you than the old hardbacked Moleskine.

These Emoji stickers which are everything

Because how else are you meant to get across your emotions when you use a pen and paper? We know in the old days people used to use things called ‘adjectives’ to describe their feelings, but time is money people and these days we’re far too used to employing the white-eyed scared cat emoji to bother writing out ‘terrified’ in full.

This pencil case which'll match your backpack

If you can't afford a Herschel backpack (it's been on our Christmas list for nigh on two years now) get stuck in with this Herchel pencil case. Even though you don't need to carry around a full set of gel pens, a fountain pen, three pencils and a Bic biro these days, it can double-up as a make-up case, fag holder and change carrier.

This pencil sharpener which wins everything

C'mon, we're way past the age of which the pencil sharpener that looks like you're sharpening your pencil in a cat's bottom is still funny. Instead, get your hands on this Pinnochio number that assumes the pencil as his nose. As the last time you used a pencil was 2004, this'll probably end up on your dressing table as a sharpener for your eyeliners. Where it'll do a fine job.
