Houseplants are totally A Thing at the moment. In fact, you can't log on to Pinterest without seeing picture after picture of white shelves with trailing spider plants and cacti adorning them.

But, what if you're green-fingeredly challenged? You're going to need something that won't die. Like a stuff cactus that you can make yourself. Here's how to do it.
What you need
Old clothes in various shades of green
Other green fabrics
Scissors
Pins
Toy stuffing
Plant pots
Embroidery thread
A needle
Step one
To create your cactus plants you will need to cut out various shapes of leaves from your fabrics. These can be tall and thin or short and stubby. Whatever shape you decide on make sure the fabrics are right sides together.
Step two
Once all leaves are cut out, roughly decide which pots they will be going in. This will help you later on.
Step three
Sew all leaves together, remembering to leave a hole at the bottom.
Step four
Turn leaves the right side out.
Step five
Stuff the leaves with regular toy stuffing. Don’t over stuff as the leaves will be too stiff.
Step six
Sew up all the holes in the leaves using a slip stitch or a running stitch.
Step seven
Once all sewn you can start to construct your plants. I based this one on a strange flowering succulent. Once you are happy with placement, stitch all the leaves together making sure they are secure. You can add decorative stitching to your cactuses too.
