10-gruppen (iconic Swedish textile designers from the 1970s) have collaborated with three young, new IKEA designers to create a collection full of bright bold designs and 14 new prints spread across home accessories, cushion covers and crockery. The collection is said to be ’14 fabulous patterns that fuses the past and the present.’

10-gruppen have been creating textiles for over 45 years, and decided they wanted to ‘pass on the torch,’ in this collaboration with IKEA. They first collaborated back in 1979, but this time they decided to bring back patterns and make them bolder than ever.

Think back to your primary school days where bright bold colour blocking in brash blues and greens was a standard art lesson – then chuck it over a cushion and you’re on the right track. The collection is available from May 1st, and prices range from as little as 95p for a set of paper napkins – party, anyone? That's cheap you could buy a whole truck load of napkins. So, in the words of Gwen Stefani circa 2004, what you waiting for? Plan that Ikea trip, pronto.
