IKEA has just commissioned a series of 12 prints by internationally known artists who express themselves through the medium of drawing. It’s part of their Art Event 2017with the aim of making 'great art accessible to everyone.'
The prints are seriously cool. At £10 a pop, the range is not only affordable for such high quality work, but at 61cm by 91cm, the prints are both eye-catching, yet, not sizeably overwhelming for your (presumably small/overpriced/yet lovely) flat. The prints are so diverse that you are sure to find something up your street. Jean Jullien is a French artist who makes playful illustrations that he claims reflect the world around him, much like journalism, he says. His piece is supposed to imitate our attachment to our possessions. Then there is the delicate, charcoal illustration, by Joanna Concejo, who seeks to create a 'mystical and fable-like universe, combining enigmatic creatures and characters' through her art. It’s beautiful, if we do say so ourselves. Other artists include Amit Greenberg, Yasuto Sasada, Steven Harrington and many more.
The limited edition prints will be available from April onward. and we reckon they'll sell out fast, so make sure you get down there and buy some exquisite art that won't break the bank.
