Remember when you were little and you used to spend hours on the family PC, designing houses for your Sims, calling constantly on your old pal the Rosebud cheat code to get more cash to help you bedeck your poor Sim's abode in various garish designs?
Well, if you're still playing the Sims, good for you. But, if you consider yourself far too much of a grown-up these days to indulge in such activities then allow us to present you with the adult world's answer to virtually designing houses; the iCanDesign app.
TBH, we came across this app whilst looking into the new IKEA catalogue app which supposedly allows you to use augmented reality to put IKEA furniture in your own home to see how it would look. Unfortunately though, after it crashed my phone four times and then refused to load at all, I went on the hunt for other fun home design apps and came across iCanDesign.
Made by the distinctly Scandinavian sounding Oleksandr Rysenko, iCanDesign lets you build a room (any shape, any size), add doors and windows, and then fill the whole thing up with funishings from a number of furniture outlets.
Each real life piece of furniture can be purchased IRL (obvs not by us because buying new furniture is a far off lols-fest that won't come until SERIOUS adulthood) and costs fake money. You start with $1500 and can purchase more cash using real life pounds (don't do this).
I made my living room. Minus the surface mess.
Fun no? Couldn't afford my boyfriend's piano. Which was sad. So made do with another houseplant instead. Because you can never have too many houseplants.
