When it comes to getting thicker eyebrows, we’ll pretty much try any beauty trick going. But now it seems that the secret to Cara Delevingne brows has been hiding in the kitchen all along – and it’s under 50p.

Introducing onions, the vegetable ‘product’ you need to grow your eyebrows.

It sounds bonkers, but beauty blogger Farah Dukhai recently took to Instagram to demonstrate how onions play a key role in growing out her eyebrows. She posted a video of her (carefully) rubbing her eyebrows with this root veg, and explained the thinking behind it.

The benefits, according to Farah Dukhai, is that ‘onion juice has sulphur which speeds up the growth of hair and makes it thicker.’

So does it actually work? Recent research shows that onions were once used to help women with alopecia, but, dermatologist Dr Kavita Mariwalla explained to Allure:‘Sulfur is important in hair, however… I don’t want people to think that putting onion juice on every day is going to suddenly give them luscious, thick brows.’

If you are willing to give this a go, we suggest proceeding with extreme caution and a lot of hand washing afterwards, but seeing as we cry every time we even think about prepping an onion - this new craze isn't going to work for us.
