The Denim Trend Dominating Our Instagram Feed

Despite its association with the questionable style choices of Liz Hurley and VB pre-catwalk, white denim is making the rounds again. White jeans were a main fixture on the street style circuit this past fashion month, and a quick scroll through some of our favourite Instagram account tells a similar story.

With bare leg weather still a distant dream, white jeans provide a great sartorial alternative for spring that doesn’t involve foregoing comfort or warmth. Moreover, after months of living in dark denim, white jeans are the perfect way to welcome the new season without changing much else about your outfit.

While white denim gets a bad rap for being unflattering, this isn’t the case when you choose a relaxed fit. Stay clear of super skinny options and instead look for a straight leg, boyfriend style or flare. This spring we’ve been loving the array of cropped flared styles which look equally good paired with ankle boots as they do with trainers. Plus, if bright white jeans seem too far out your comfort zone you could always try cream or ivory hues for a more wearable option.

For a statement look take your cue from Camille Charriere and wear head-to-toe white. Just make sure to avoid the red wine.

We love Liv Purvis' take on the trend mixing white and blush pink hues.

For a dressed down option pair white jeans with a blazer and slip on Vans.
