Tod’s Autumn Winter 2015: 5 Things We Loved

Tod's: 5 Things We Loved

Alessandra Fachinetti, creative director of Tod’s, took her catwalk bow wearing what is becoming something of a house signature: a white shirt with a suede skirt. It’s this simple-but-effective mix of grown up working girls’ attire with the luxury of the brand’s leather craftsmanship that now weaves through the ready-to-wear collections each season. For autumn/winter 2015 there are countless options for a considered approach to smart-casual. Here’s what we’ll be taking a cue from…

1. The belted stole

This new on-shouldered-and-belted stole styling has already seized the sidewalks via the chic street, but we’ve noticed it increasingly on the runway for next season too. It makes sense – hands free but oh-so-chic.

2. The many ways to rework leather

Patchworked, carefully laser cut, used as giant top-stitched, woven… Alessandra experimented with many different techniques today, all of which had a hint of Native America – especially when the moccasin booties kicked in.

3. Diamond motif

This geometric motif arrived via embroidered trouser suits, studded belts and intarsia knits. Bye bye stripes?

4. Shiny shoes

Highly buffed shoes can help but speak of that excitable back-to-school feeling – especially in a burgundy loafer as seen here.

5. Matchy bag and pants

We so often are told to not pair up a bag and shoes for fear of looking old fashioned – but what of a purple suede pair of skinny trousers and a complementing tote? It gets the ok from Tod’s!
