Are we the only ones SO ready for the new season? Yeah, winter, it was fun, but seeing all things light and bright begin to hit the shops again has got us ready to ditch the layers and run to a rooftop bar somewhere.
Trouble – aside from the fact that the weather is still undeniably British – is that as exciting as the big trend switcheroo may be, knowing where to begin can actually be a little overwhelming. Our advice? Focus on working a few spring twists into what you’ve already got and you might just find yourself falling in love with your wardrobe all over again.
As for your inspo, look no further than the catwalks of SS16. From London to Milan, September’s shows were, after all, what set the trend bar, so it’s no surprise to find a slew of styling tricks worth stealing.
We’ve teamed up with Tu and rounded up a few of the most notable, along with the pieces you’ll need to nail the look…
Whiteout
Nothing says new season like a clean palette, and Balenciaga knows it. SS16 saw models dressed entirely in ivory, mixing a sports luxe silhouette with romantic details. Whilst head-to-toe white might not work for everyday (we predict a coffee spillage), accessories are a wearable way to add a fresh edge to any look.

Saddle up
If there’s one accessory to be seen with right now, it’s the saddle bag. Roomy enough to accommodate all your essentials (green juice, 4 lipbalms and a biro included), take notes from the Coach runway and pair this sleek tan style with a folksy dress and your favourite boots. Tights optional.

On the canvas
The trainer trend isn't going anywhere, and this season sees the return of classic canvas. Spotted offsetting the bold prints at Missoni’s Milan show, wear a preppy lace-up pair with pretty much anything for an instant outfit lift. Bonus: They're super comfy too.
Trainers, £10
In the navy
No longer a fashion punchline, the modern culotte is a wardrobe staple we’re not sure how we ever lived without. Try a nautical spin on the silhouette a la Marc Jacobs in this navy pair with button detail. Scared of going full on sailor? Tuck in a blouse to keep the look feminine.
Trousers, £16
