It's always a pleasure to start a day in Paris with Monsieur Mouret. For autumn /winter 2015 his inspirations are as varied and far flung as colours from Persia and fisherman's wives' textile traditions from Scotland. But this was a reflection of Roland's aim for the latest range: 'This time I have tried to be true to myself. I have taken that skill I have and sought only to be the best I can; to make an honest collection with the clothes themselves as text, as narration, as a story of my life and travels. I am, after all, much like the women I dress - a traveler, a nomad, and likely I will remain one for life, in love with the distant and uncharted places.'
Here's what we'd like to travel the globe in...
1. Geo quilting
Geo quilting in mandarin, scarlet, aubergine and black these intricately quilted and origami like pieces were instagram catnip - each and every FROWer took a picture.
2. Sky blue suiting
A natty space ensemble for when our adventure really takes off, this feminine tailoring provided a suit for girls who don't think they like suits.
3. Camo leathers
Shades of leather khaki stitched together to make cropped utility jackets and pleated miniskirts would kit out a very flirty army indeed.
4. Talking of mini skirts
Roland's high waisted ones skimmed over hips and then kicked out at the hem. Flattering, grown up and great for the desk-to-drinks dash.
5. Pointy ankle boots
Ok, so these aren't going to allow you an easy Everest hike or even a stroll around a souk, but they did look fierce - especially when tucked under a cropped trouser.
