What happens on the runway is only half of what makes New York Fashion Week so major. The other half is everything going on outside the shows, namely the sport of people watching and outfit spotting. We've been somewhat deprived of the usual street style parade for the past few seasons thanks to the pandemic, so what a joy to see that show-goers are back in business over in NY right now.
It used to be said that London was the most interesting city in terms of street style, with an anything-goes approach that looked almost subversive compared to the more polished outfits seen at Paris, Milan and New York. But the latter is so far proving that when it comes to personal style, it doesn't get much bolder and more daring than some of the looks gracing the New York streets at the moment.
There has been everything from balaclavas and puffer coats to winter whites and bold colour blocking, most of which proving that there are no rules when it comes to cold weather dressing. And even better, there's been a diverse range of guests showing off their best looks, making this season already feel more inclusive than years past.
Proenza Schouler was the first major show to kick off proceedings and at Coach (held on Day 4) TikTok star Mia Regan made her FROW debut in our new fave outfit combo.
With the likes of Collina Strada and Prabal Gurung closing the show today, it looks like we can expect even more excellent street style.
