Moschino: 5 Things We Loved

Milan is a fashion capital full of serious heavyweights but under Jeremy Scott’s directorship the super-brand Moschino still manages to bring some guaranteed fun and lightness to the proceedings. It starts from the very moment the fashion crowds pile into the showspace and discover their treats: tonight’s plaything was a Moschino fragrance disguised as a cuddly teddy bear wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with ‘This is NOT a Moschino toy’.

Here are the five other things that tickled our fashion tastebuds…

1. Going off-piste

Jeremy took the ski kit off the slopes and onto the streets – gigantic puffas, quilted boots and knitted thermals were all given a high octane makeover in super-bright colours and joyously impractical (for skiing) renderings: the boots were OTKs, the thermals slashed and cut into crop tops and sassy leggings, the padded coats were only to be worn almost completely unzipped over skimpy gear or transformed into mini skirts and cropped jackets.

2. Graffiti meets eveningwear

Well, of course these two things can join in matrimony in Jezza’s fashionland. His girl crew – Leigh Lezark, Miley Cyrus & co. – will no doubt confidently rock these on the red carpet.

3. Pointy sneaks

We’ve actually noticed this as a burgeoning under-the-radar trend as is. Now Mr Scott has put the final stamp of approval on proceedings. Expect these to be very popular.

4. Warner Bros motifs

Jeremy can send a popular character of our time into stratospheric territory. Already covering the likes of Barbie and even the little Cheetos fella now it’s time for Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny and their cartoon pals to enjoy a spot in the fashion limelight. They come complete with a gangsta makeover.

5. Carrying three bags

Who wants one piece of Moschino army candy when you can have three? One bucket, one tote and one x-body number will do nicely in the kitsch teddy print and shearling, please.
