A-listers are pretty busy folk - they have a lot of events, fittings and meetings with their glam squads to dash between, so we guess it makes sense that a device that saves them time walking on their two feet is pretty appealing. Especially when you factor in a workout element. We assume is why Megaboards have become a thing among the A-list of late.

So what exactly is a Megaboard? Kind of like a skateboard in dimensions, only with two wheels rather than four, it's an automated, self-driving device for getting around town. It also works out your core and back muscles, requiring you to balance in order to avoid, err, suffering an unglamorous fall.

Stars including Rita Ora, Sam Smith and most recently Lily Allen have been seen enjoying a swift ride on one. Cheryl Cole gave a Megaboard a whirl with the help of Nick Grimshaw backstage of The X Factor.

Cheryl looks a little wobbly on her feet, but the Megaboard doesn't take too long to master - the website advises that the device takes around 20-30 minutes to become proficient on. So a hand-holder might be advisable for your first try if you want to avoid face-planting.

As for how far it can take you, the site says "Initially, riding the megaboard can be strenuous due to your body getting acclimated to standing on the device. Once you relax, you can ride the megaboard for its full range of 10-12 miles." As long as there's no rain, that is.

Megaboards cost £497 and are currently on sale for £399. Would you try one?
