Marques Almeida Autumn Winter 2015: 5 Things We Loved

Marques'Almedia's frayed denim edges and smock-shaped pieces very quickly made them a go-to designer duo for the fash pack. With their accessible price-point and super shoppable angle, their show is hotly anticipated on the LFW schedule. Whilst the new collection stayed true to their '90s roots and - gladly for many - was still full of frayed denim, their were plenty of twists and turns to surprise and delight.

Here are a few of our favourite things...

**1. Green glitter coloured denim **

OK, we admit it: we MIGHT have been sort of expecting denim. But full pink denim looks, after a full green denim look? Not that. But boy was it a pleasant surprise.

2. Tiny bags

Oh-so-weeny and oh-so-shiny, trios of adorable metallic bags of varying shapes swung from the hands of denim clad models. Too cute.

**3. Sling arm-sleeve **

Forget shoulder-robing your coat - Marques'Almeida have brought us a wounded soldier-worthy jacket with one pinned and over-sized sleeve. Weird but good and definitely street style paparazzi fodder.

**4. Brocade/jewel mash-up **

Contrasting layers of sheeny silk brocade in jewel tones of green, magenta and turquoise were twisted into sweet-wrapper mini-dresses, providing a super cute shock of colour between true blue denims.

**5. Giant chin bows **

Marques'Almeida mastered the knotted denim sash seasons ago but this new bow is something else. Giant and tied tightly at the neck, these plumes of denim almost entirely cover the chin, and make these utilitarian pieces ultra glam.
