Always luxurious, androgynous and timeless, Margaret Howell could potentially be a trend-free zone. Howell has been putting roll-necks on the catwalk long before they were the on-trend underpinning, and masculine tailoring has been a perennial go-to for the designer. Despite her much admired classical aesthetic - there's still plenty of newness in this Autumn Winter 2015 collection - disguised as well seasoned chic of course.
1. Kilt wrap skirt
This side-fastened straight-up-and-down below-the-knee skirt was a revelation. Only appearing twice - once in brown, once in black - this ultra smart skirt is an instant must-have shape.
**2. Brown on brown **
We were convinced to wear top-to-toe brown: a luxe camel sweater teamed with a dark brown woollen skirt (with touches of navy dotted throughout) warmed our souls.
3. Neckerchief
A current styling staple - the silk neckerchief- made an appearance in a charmingly Grandaddy incarnation - autumnal toned paisley print.
4. Sleeveless shearling
This Margaret Howell take on the winter warmer du jour - shearling - had a delightfully feminine touch. These sleeveless shearling waistcoats and jackets weren't oversized DelBoy numbers but slimline and belted: utterly elegant.
5. Wide crop
These navy woollen ankle swingers were extra wide - creating a really defined crop. Short enough to reveal a lotta sock And those charming cropped patent booties.
