What’s happening inside the shows might be geared towards spring, but it’s what's happening outside (i.e. a demonstration of what to wear IRL for September) that we’re really interested in. The colour dial usually gets turned up to 10 in London and, sure enough, we spotted limes, tangerines and lemons. Alongside the fruity, there were also symphonies of beige (that trend has some serious legs), lots of leather, plenty of autumn boot eye candy and a return to normal-sized bags (as opposed to either the massive or the micro). Keep reading for the five trends our money's on for now. That's right - no waiting until spring.
The hot colour combo
Head-to-toe black is a fashion editor favourite, but why not stand out in, wait for it, monochrome? It’s just as chic but, in this unexpectedly clement weather, is less heat-absorbant. A zinging zebra print is an easy win.
That's '70s Show
The decade of the season might just be the Seventies. Rixo’s free-spirited presentation was practically a love-in in homage to Woodstock's 50th anniversary, and is available to shop now, while street-stylers, like the Dane Emili Sindlev, brought back leather blazers, retro prints and - here’s the kicker - suede knee-highs. Peace out.
The BBB (big black boot)
Despite the outlook being unnaturally bright over the weekend, the clompy black boot still got a great showing. Wear with a puffed sleeve minidress, like influencer Jessie Bush, and remember: the bigger the track-sole the better.
Print clashing
Why stick to wearing just one school of print? Blanca Miro shows us how it’s done with a plaid blouse next to an animal print bag in a patchwork of species. Her secret? Keeping the rest of the look pared-back with jeans and block-coloured flats.
The belter
The best outfits are always the simple ones that have just a hint of something different. This show-goer dressed up a plain top and pleated skirt with one hell of a waist-cincher. Go bold or go home when it comes to belts, we say.
