I write as many letters as I possibly can; however, my handwriting skills haven’t developed much since first learning at Primary School. Town Hall Hotel in East London has teamed up with Lamplighter London to host a series of modern calligraphy workshops over the summer months. Book yourself a place on the 24th July or the 14th August and learn the new skill from founding calligrapher Chiara Lisa who will cover an introduction to the art with shape, letter and style development.
The class will guide students through the basics of modern calligraphy, from ink flow and pen pressure, to mark making and shapes, and learning the modern alphabet.
Each class will take place in the hotel’s Corner Room restaurant and includes a two-course lunch and beginner’s calligraphy kit to keep, containing ink, nib, pen and more. Classes start at 11am with lunch being served at 1:45pm, and cost £60 per person, but hurry they're selling our fast!
