Got a case of summer fashion fatigue, but not ready to layer up just yet? We hear you.
Sure, for most of Britain, August means switching on the Out Of Office and catching that last bit of sun – but in fashion land, it's all about Autumn, with the style set already locking down their key pieces for the season ahead.
Thankfully, there is a happy medium, with the AW16 catwalks full of trends that you can start channeling right now (without feeling overdressed).
We’ve teamed up with Tu and rounded up a few of the most notable, along with the pieces you’ll need to nail the look…
It's the bomb(er)
Sports luxe has been a fave for a while now, and the good news is that it's sticking around for another season. A lightweight bomber is a throw-on-and-go way to take on the trend, and a simple black or navy one will carry you right through to Winter. Channel Balenciaga and try wearing off the shoulder with a light dress now and a sweetheart knit later.

Suit up
Plenty of looks caught our eye at Gucci (hello, new loafers) but their sleek printed suit was a total standout. Tu's geo two piece offers a lighter take on the look, and it'll work as well for the office as it does for evening. Keep the look feminine by wearing over a lace trim cami, with the option to add on a turtleneck when the temperature drops.

In check
If multi-tonal prints aren't your thing, why not give mono a go? Spotted across dresses and shirts at Victoria Beckham, gingham feels fresh no matter the season and suits a variety of skintones. Style with bare limbs now and layer on a leather biker in September. When it comes to shoes, you can't go wrong with a minimal white sneaker.
Dress, £20
Well red
From frills at Gucci to hoodies at Vetements, get ready (ahem) to see a lot more red this season. Make like Mulberry and pair a sleek off-shoulder top with a pleated skirt for a cool weather look worthy of the dancing emoji lady. As for August? We'll be wearing ours with raw edge denim.
Top, £16
Cape crusader
Get ready to meet your wardrobe's new best friend. Spoiler alert: it's a cape (and yes, we are for real). Erdem, Gareth Pugh, Alexander McQueen... the shape was all over the runway, but our fave incarnation was part of Chloe's bohemian-inspired collection. Tu's lightweight cover-up gives a nod to the style and makes the perfect late summer layer – just add a long sleeve come Autumn.
Cape, £14
