Finally, fashion is getting it. First Viktor & Rolf spelt out our internal mantra with a tulle dress decorated with the slogan ‘Sorry I’m Late I Didn’t Want To Come’ and now NYC brand Eckhaus Latta has created the shoes for that very mood.

Models of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities and genders wore natty knitwear, tie-dye denim and a new shape of Uggs. We’re calling them the Going Out-Out Uggs. We’re assuming they were designed for those nights when you’d rather be in PJs and slippers and yet find yourself being dragged to the club. So every Friday evening then. While we wouldn’t normally think Ugg’s were club appropriate, these come with the addition of a chunky heel, which ironically is enough to pass the strictest of dress code measures at a Mayfair club.

Since the Australian-turned-Californian brand collaborated with Y-Projects and created thigh-scraping boots (who can forget Rihanna wearing them) they’ve been on course to redefine their image. Gone is the Paris Hilton promo and mental association with hoards of spotty teenagers in shopping malls. The budding relationship with Eckhaus Latta is yet another gesture to show that Ugg is more than a fluffy beige boot. In fact, it's also a fluffy square-toed heeled mule now too.

We expect to see Rihanna wearing these imminently.
