This weekend, the fash pack will fly in to California for the one of the most anticipated festivals of the year. Yes, Coachella fever is upon us and attendees are busy curating a series of Insta-ready looks as we speak.

But how will this year’s star-studded event influence our summer wardrobe?

Whether you’re packing your suitcase for a weekend in the shadow of the now-famous wheel or plan to watch Beyoncé from the comfort of your own bed, these are the festival trends set to take over an Instagram feed near you.

1. Breathe A Sigh Of Relief, Boho Is (Finally) Out

If asked to conjure up an image of a festival in your mind, we can guarantee that you’d picture bell-sleeve dresses and floral headbands aplenty. But many of you will be pleased to learn that boho-inspired trends are finally dying down. Sorry, Sienna.

According to global fashion site, Lyst, search for floral crowns are down by 18 percent this year. Instead, festival goers are stocking up on silky scarves (no doubt inspired by the spring/summer 18 runway shows).

In another sigh of relief, searches for festival buzzwords such as ‘crochet’ and ‘hippie’ are also down by 34 percent in comparison to last year. In need of some inspo as to what to wear instead? Insta-ready dresses by Reformation and Rixo are leading the way as the most searched for festival numbers ahead of Coachella. No surprises there.

2. Teensy Sunnies Are Back For Round Two This Season

Over the past three months, Lyst has reported a surge in demand for the noughties accessory and in the last week alone, there was one search for ‘small sunglasses’ every four minutes.

And we have the likes of millennial supers, Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner, to thank as the fashion duo are often papped rocking Matrix-inspired shades. Race you to the shops…

3. Trainers: The Chunkier, The Better

Trainers continue to reign as the street style set’s footwear of choice and this festival season, the chunkier the better.

Lyst has reported over 2,000 searches a day for the likes of Balenciaga Triple S sneaks and the Fila Disruptors in recent weeks (total search increased by 105 percent in the last month). Team with a floral dress for extra style points.

4. Street Style Stars Will Sport Athleisure

As we bid farewell to Vanessa Hudgens-inspired boho chic, say hello to a newfound streetwear-inspired aesthetic.

According to Lyst, the belt bag (recently championed by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley) was searched for every three minutes last week.

Last year, the most coveted garment donned by the street style set was no doubt the Gucci tee (shout out to Rihanna). But this summer, pay close attention to athleisure heroes - Balenciaga and Off-White - as the labels continue to deliver sell-out Insta-hits.
