Whilst the rest of New York Fashion Week has been making every effort to bundle up against the raging cold, Diane von Furstenburg bucked the trend and decided to let her girl live more dangerously. Seduction was the name of the game – and a DvF darling doesn’t do it by halves. Here’s five ways that Diane won achieved the sex factor….

1. Business at the front, party at the back: Many of von Furstenburg’s classic wrap dresses looked perfectly demure and balletic from the front, but turn Kendall Jenner around and you’ll see the back panel is in fact totally see-through black lace. Good for a memorable exit

2. Polka-dot tights: There’s something about a light opaque tight that spells confidence. Yes, they’ll ladder within an instant… but maybe you won’t be wearing them for that long anyway.

3. Plunging necklines: Perhaps the unexpected front runner at the year’s awards ceremonies, but also finding themselves to be quite a favourite amongst NYFW’s designers. Tit tape not always necessary, but do practice with caution.

4. Secretarial pinstripes: Need we say more than Maggie Gyllenhaal? You know what we mean.

5. Red hot prints: Diane herself was in fact modelling a dress created out of two of her show’s vibrant prints: the lips (which are, of course, a signature) alongside chunky polka dots. The combination of two such feminine prints – but in violently red and pink hues – looked punchy rather than prissy.
