As awards season is coming up thick and fast, LA girl Alka Makwana checked out the TOP hotels and restaurants to visit whilst in home of the film industry!
HOTELS
1. SLS
If you want a taste of the rich and famous lifestyle LA Style, look no further than the SLS Beverly Hills. This hotel, arranged over 7 floors is in the heart of the ultra exclusive Beverly Hills area. The interiors are modern and stylish and you are treated like a total VIP! Everything, from the napkins, to the sliding mirrored partition in your hotel room are designed to a T. The food is exquisite, the pool is out of this world, the staff are impeccabley polite and basically it's a complete fantasy hotel! There's no way to describe it! Perfect!

2. The London West Hollywood
The luxuryThe London West Hollywood hotel is absolutely beautiful (not that we are biased as it has London in the name), boasting a stunning rooftop terrace that overlooks the entertainment district in Beverly Hills. It’s a total celeb hotspot and even has its very own ‘Brit Bar.’ It also offers a beauty salon and a plush Gordon Ramsay restaurant where you receive a complimentary British breakfast everyday, and other delicious meals including grilled scallops to the good old sticky toffee pudding too! The rooms are spacious and with gorgeous interiors designed by the acclaimed David Collins, and their newly opened 1,425 – 1,975 square feet gate suites paying homage to Hyde Park are just incredible! To top it off a 2,000 square foot state-of-the-art fitness centre completes a spectacular hotel ambiance. The way to describe this is English country flirts with California sun and dances with Hollywood’s Golden Age.

3. Sofitel
This 295-room outlet of a French chainon the border of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills combines Continental elegance and Hollywood trendiness, with luxurious rooms decked with 32-inch LCD TV, iPod docking station and work desk. All rooms have stunning city views and floor-to-ceiling windows. LeSpa at Hotel Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills boasts an outdoor pool, gym and a variety of face and body treatments. The delightful restaurant the Estérel, located on site, serves regional French cuisine with meals infused with accents of fennel, saffron and herbs de Provence. There is also availability to indoors or beside the gardens and fire pit on the outdoor terrace. This is truly a place fit to unwind and relax and soak in those LA rays.

If you love Japanese food Koi, Katana and Sushi Roku are THE places to go to. These restaurants boast fresh Asian cuisine made by the finest chefs in the city. Our fave dishes have to be the yellow tail fish, Miso Cod and Shisito peppers.

Based inside the Four Seasons Hotel, Culina is divine from the decor to the food. If you are looking for a celebrity hotspot, this place is the best to ogle your favourite celebs chowing down. Do try the ahi crud, kale salad with artichoke and crispy prosciutto!

Fans of Italian cuisine will find food nirvana at Fig and Olive and Rivabella, with the latter serving up a show-stopping tuna tartar and grilled scallops. Everything is all simply scrumptious and you’ll never leave with an empty stomach as there are variety of delicious items to try!
