I know, I know, we’re nearly in autumn and here I am convincing you to buy one more Zara dress. But hear me out: the chicest women I follow on Instagram are making a case for this cult Zara style, and I’m completely sold.

First off, the cut. It’s universally flattering with a round neckline, wide straps, and a gently flared hem. The contrast piping? Simple, but it really pulls the whole look together. Personally, I’m all about a corset fit; it gives perfect support around the waist and creates an hourglass shape.

Then there’s the fabric. Made from ramie, a plant-based material often compared to linen, it’s durable, breathable, moisture-wicking, and sustainable. You know that dress you can throw on and instantly feel good in, no matter what? This is that dress.

Fashion girls are pairing it with chocolate totes and tan flats, but I’m telling you, it’ll glide effortlessly into early autumn, too. Throw on a chunky cardigan and ballet flats, and you’re good to go.

And since I’ll be spending time in Asia this November, I know I’ll be taking this with me and wearing it well into next summer. White dresses always feel timeless, and Zara has a way of stocking what’s hot right now, which also means this one won’t be around for long. If I were you, I’d move fast and get it straight in your basket.

If Zara’s cult white midi isn’t quite your vibe (or your size sells out), don’t worry, I’ve rounded up a few chic alternatives that also deserve a spot in your wardrobe.

Mango White Dress

I love this one, spotted it as one of the standout pieces in Mango’s new-in section. It’s the kind of dress you’ll want to have, whether you’re travelling or just because. It also looks amazing layered under a blazer, giving off a chic, sophisticated vibe.

Damson Madder

Ok, this one is cute and clever. All-over embroidery, a removable collar, and you can wear it strapless or with straps, depending on your mood. Made from 100% organic cotton, it’s soft, breathable, and just feels like a little treat to wear.

This one just works. Maxi length, subtle volume, relaxed but still chic, throw it on with ballet flats or sandals.

Reiss

The bodice hugs in all the right places and the skirt flares gently with a side slit, honestly, this is one of those dresses that makes getting dressed feel easy. You’ll wear it over and over. It's also available in black.

Aligne
Price: $124.99 (was £149)

Such a classic. Linen, drop waist, side pockets (yes, pockets!) and a shirred back for comfort. Perfect for those mornings when you’re in a rush but still want to look like you tried - literally the story of my life.

Nobody's Child

This one’s so dreamy. It has a fit-and-flare shape that flatters, a bandeau top for a little late summer vibe, and yes, we love side pockets. Size tip: if you’re between 4 and 10, go down a size.
