My Week In Fashion

My Week In Fashion□□Welcome to My Week In Fashion! Every week, Gemma Hayward - Grazia's Senior Fashion Editor - shows us what she's seen, loved and bought. Click through the gallery above to see what she's been loving this week, from the baking birthday cakes to monogrammed bags….

1. G.A.H In The Bag

So the day has finally arrived...my Nina Ricci bag that I designed weeks ago is now in my grasp! It's classic and chic and I will use it forever - it's even monogrammed so my sisters can't steal it. The only problem is, it looks so perfect, I'm frightened to use it!

2. Bake Off

My lovely friend Velvet (yes, that's her real name) turned the grand old age of 30 this weekend so we threw her a tea party to celebrate. My sister Emily and I enjoy making cakes for special occasions for our friends and family and we try to make them funny, constructing icing and sponge to resemble a favourite pet, person or meal. Velvet is partial to a fish finger sandwich so that's exactly what she got - although it's actually a Victoria sponge. Looks good enough to eat! I'm considering entering next years GBBO...not really.

3. BOB

I had a delicious breakfast at the House of St Barnabas with the equally delicious Dawn O'Porter. A handful of press were invited and were talked through her new label BOB which launches online this Thursday on her vintage website. Inspired by different eras and her vintage finds but is firmly aimed at the modern woman. They are clothes to be worn and enjoyed, comfort is key - Dawn wants you to be able eat dinner comfortably in her designs...a girl after our own hearts!

4. The Big High Street Issue

Grazia has been taken over by the High street this week and it's just brimming with beautiful price-savvy buys. I styled the main fashion shoot in the issue, which focuses on the pastel colour trend. My favourite shot of the shoot is the opening spread, which features two Marks & Spencer outfits. I love the pink tailored suit, which is very laid back and lux. The M&S coats are very hard to beat this season - this fluffy collared zip jacket is just great. To watch the fashion film of the shoot please click HERE!

5. Inspirational Friends

I met up with an old friend for dinner this week, but she isn't just any friend she is an AMAZING woman and although we don't see each other as much as we like, when I do see her I'm reminded just how wonderful she is and how lucky I am to have her. I met Rebecca when we were both in junior positions at the Independent. Fast forward 10 (ish) years and she's the features editor. We've had many fun times over the years and I've got to know her lovely husband Nick too, thanks to our mutual love of cats, wine and their kind hospitality (and use of their spare bed). Eight months ago Nick was unfortunately hit by a car and was badly injured. The road to recovery is long and every time I get to see Rebecca I am blinded by her brilliance as she battles on through these really, really difficult times. She chronicles hers and Nicks journey in a weekly column In Sickness and in Health for the Independent, which is so heartfelt and beautifully written. This is us celebrating her 30th birthday a few years back...and yes, I made her a cake!
