If you think fashion people only wear top-to-toe black, think again, says Victoria Beckham. The designer just appeared wearing the most sunny-side-up colours in New York. Giving a masterclass in colour-blocking, VB clashed red with yellow with green. And it's got us thinking about all the colourful pieces in our wardrobe that could be worn together for extra exuberance points (pink, green and brown or cream, burgundy and turquoise would also look lovely).
For some reason, yellow trousers are surprisingly easy to wear (I have two pairs and they're some of the hardest-working in my collection). VB's are naturally VB, and not available to buy at the moment, but De La Vali's Uma Pants are a winning option. & Other Stories' Wrap Cardigan, made from recycled polyester, is the most gorgeous shade of ruby. And for your splash of green, it's got to be Bottega Veneta's Padded Cassette. (P.S. For something slightly more purse-friendly, JW Pei's Gabbi is a great shout.) Wear them all together - copying the maestro's big shades and sleek ponytail - and you'll feel as bright on the inside as you look on the outside.
