It Turns Out That Dinner At Gwyneth Paltrow’s Is Even Worse Than We Thought

We never imagined a dinner party at Gwyneth Paltrow's house to be a bundle of laughs. Her last GOOP newsletteradvocated the use of 'spirit truffles', 'sex barks' and 'elevating adaptogenic lattes' - none of which are recognisable to us as foodstuffs. We basically took it for granted that dinner at Gwyn's meant miserably nibbling on some raw kale while having your aura forcably blessed by a shaman called Pompaduke.

It turns out that the truth is far, far worse. While appearing on the Rachael Ray show, Gwyneth confessed to her worst ever dinner party faux pas.

'I went to the store and bought some eggplant, a jar of tomato sauce and some really rubbery mozzarella cheese,' she said. 'I didn't know that when you cook eggplant, you first have to sweat it to get all the bitter juice out, and I didn't realize that you also have to bread eggplant parmesan and fry it before. So I put slices of raw eggplant with jarred tomato sauce and mozzarella! And everyone threw up.'

In case you're wondering, Gwyneth appeared on the show to promote her new forthcoming cookbook, which is all about 'clean comfort food' (the mind boggles). Promoting your cookbook by telling an anecdote about making a whole dinner party vomit? This could well be Gwyn's most maverick move yet.
