Few items are quite so quintessentially British as the trench coat. Due to the unfortunate bouts of rain that seem always to come at the end of August, sadly signalling the end of Summer, our wardrobes are crying out for something both transitional and practical. Enter the trench: waterproof, stylish, and oh so cool, this particular piece of outerwear will take you through these patches of drizzle.
The Trench is a staple each seaso and fear not, it’s not going out of fashion any time soon. Catwalk giants McQueen and The Row both displayed an ode to the trench coat for AW15. Burberry of course supplies us with the most diverse selection. Everything from classic beige to lace, studded and embroidered versions.
The Great British High Street hasn’t failed to help us in our quest to stay dry and on trend. Our favourites from the high street this season are Topshop’s navy belted number and H&M’s grey zipped version. Go chic and sultry with a fitted trench, bare legs and heels, or do something a little more laid back. MM6 has an amazing masculine Trench – perfect for days when only black jeans and biker boots will do.
