Few things are worse that tottering around on skinny heels on a sweaty summer’s day. By May, I’m constantly on the lookout for a fun, flattering pair of sandals, armed with a bit of height, that don’t make my toes curl up in agony. And, let’s face it, no make pairs of shoes is too many.

Block heels are a great alternative to towering stilettos for warm evenings and sunny days. Pair them with anything from a midi skirt to culottes, they can compliment a whole host of looks. With everyone from Alexa Chung to Kate Bosworth sporting the trend, we’re totally up for jumping on the block heel bandwagon.
I’m a big fan of Dolce’s dreamy floral embellished pair, although Monsoon has brought us uber chic, and affordable, tan and white numbers. Whichever pair takes your fancy, they’re sure to become a wardrobe staple. Go ahead and shop our top twenty favourites.
