The New Season Switch-Up With Hush

It happened last week. I stepped out of the office and, for the first time in months, didn’t instantly break into a light sweat on the tube. My T-shirt was suddenly surplus to requirements, and I found myself longing for sleeves that I could roll down, rather than up. Yes, a chill was in the air. The sort of low-level thrill only those of us who’ve been wearing flip flops and sandals on repeat can truly understand. Aka, my summer wardrobe needs a rest.

But with the change of weather comes the inevitable conundrum: what on earth to wear now? My wardrobe, as ever, is a tale of two halves. Most of it has aged well - call me an astute shopper - but there’s no denying it needs an injection of newness. And when every brand seems to drop a new collection overnight, where to start? Enter Hush - the Grazia fashion team's go-to.

This season, Hush’s autumn/winter collection is all about elevating the everyday. Think versatile pieces that work across the many roles our days demand (office, drinks, school gates, a long overdue dinner with friends). After all, it’s what the brand does best: striking that clever balance between casual and polished, formal and informal, comfort and style. And this autumn, the line-up is particularly strong. Denim arrives in fresh shapes (the Bree barrel leg and the Nessa stripe wide leg are set to be Grazia team staples), while knits come in breathable merino wool, including the best-selling Nina jumper in a perfect soft pink. Outerwear is another standout, as double-faced wool coats and jackets that are warm but weightless, are about to take over our wardrobes.

Naturally, I’ve started mentally editing my wish list. For me, tailoring always comes first. The pure wool double-faced blazer in chocolate is precisely the kind of piece I’ll wear on repeat, paired with breezy wide-leg trousers for the infamous fashion editor high-low balance that we keep referencing. Our head of shopping, Julia Harvey, braver in colour than I am, has already staked her claim on the leopard print coat (a dream for grey mornings). Meanwhile, the aforementioned Bree barrel leg jeans are universally flattering and look just as good with trainers as they do with a heel.

I’m also embracing what I like to call haute uniform: workwear-inspired pieces that toe the line between utility and elegance. The Check wide leg jersey trousers and Harrison popper jogger tick that box. And yes, joggers are back - but not as you know them. The Alyna pocket detail trousers in rich burgundy have a barrel leg cut that feels fresh and elevated enough to wear beyond the radius of your sofa.

So, here it is: the Grazia-approved edit of Hush’s auntumn collection. A failproof line-up of denim, tailoring, knits and outerwear that will refresh any wardrobe and take you through the season in one fell swoop. Consider your autumn dressing dilemma solved.
