You Can Shop The Team GB Closing Ceremony Outfit (Without Being An Olympic Athlete)

 As the Paris Olympics draws to a close and we begin the countdown to the 2024 Paralympics Games it's time to take a look back at all of our favourite parts. From Keely Hodgkinson taking home gold in the 800m to Katarina Johnson-Tompson winning silver in the heptathlon there were countless of incredible sporting moments from the games. But sports aside, Paris put on a rather spectacular closing ceremony, from the ‘golden explorer’, a pianist suspended in mid-air and even an abseiling Tom Cruise cameo, the event was a truly star-studded affair.

Off stage, it was the outfits that also caught our attention. Team USA's space-suit inspired bomber jackets came courtesy of Polo Ralph Lauren whilst French singer, Yseult donned custom Dior couture for a show-stopping performance, team GB's closing ceremony attire was a much more wearable affair. Taking on a 'holiday mode' aesthetic the full GB team were decked out in a floral shirt, blue shorts and deck shoes that would look right at home atop a yacht. The outfits in question were designed by menswear label Ben Sherman in collaboration with Team GB, launching a whole shoppable collection in honour of the tournament. Whilst on first look appeared to have a Hawaiian shirt vibe, on closer inspection each floral design represented a flower of the United Kingdom (the English Tudor rose, the Scottish thistle, the Welsh daffodil, and the Northern Irish clover) making a perfect summer shirt. What’s even better, the full outfit, down to the socks, is available to buy.

So, whether you’re a keen athlete or prefer to take part as a spectator only you can still get in on the Olympic action without breaking a sweat.
