After so many weeks spent wearing raincoats and trainers you don't mind getting mucky, the great summer switch-over has finally hit your shoe wardrobe. That's right, the hot weather looks like it's here to stay, which means it's time to retire your ankle boots (unless they're of the cocktail variety; a must for parties) for something altogether more summery.
The Cannes Film Festival arrived just in time to provide summer shoe inspiration in the form of Jodie Turner-Smith, who wore a bright white pair of loafers to arrive at Nice Airport. Hers looked like Gucci, but GH Bass & Co's Penny Loafers are a brilliant substitute at £90.
Elsewhere on La Croisette, Marion Cotillard's off-duty wardrobe was as on point as what she packed for the red carpet, in particular this floral dress paired with platform clogs (these were also white, suggesting that the colour is in now that rain is out). Dune's closed toe clogs, with studs and a smart buckle, are the perfect finishing touch to wide-leg ankle-length jeans or swishy midi skirts.
Finally, across the pond, Irina Shayk has been treating her feet to a parade of flat chunky sandals. Mango's buckled pair will create a similar effect and, at £49.99, are a serious steal considering that you can wear them all summer long.
