Solange Knowles was never going to be a standard bride, so as the news arrives this morning that she arrived at her wedding to her long time partner video director Alan Ferguson, in a jumpsuit, we weren’t wholly surprised. Could you have imagined frothy white gown Pinterest boards for this radical dresser? Never!

In front of her son Daniel Julez, sister Beyoncé, brother in law Jay Z, their daughter Blue Ivy and approximately 200 other guests, Solange stuck firmly to her sartorial style guns. For the ceremony in New Orleans, Solange wore a Humberto Leon for Kenzo floor-sweeping gown with an attached cape. She added Solange touches with red lipstick and Jill for Lady Grey gold cuffs.

Before the wedding ceremony, Solange and her fiancé rode around New Orleans on flower-adorned bikes - something that wouldn't be so easy to navigate in a tulle wedding dress... so clever Solange wore a cream all-in-one jumpsuit from couturier Stéphane Rolland.

With a dramatic cape and her signature compact afro, Solange looked as disco-ready as any bride could ever be. Hubbie Alan also went for a white Lanvin suit that wouldn’t have been out of place in Studio 54.

Solange has a jumpsuit repertoire to rival any and it’s not the first time she’s opted for Stéphane Rolland either – choosing a similarly - albeit floral-appliquéd version - for Cannes last year. Then there’s the red silky, floral romper from Diane Von Furstenberg, an artsy monochrome number by Zero + Maria Cornejo, a mustard yellow playsuit for a summer’s day… Should we expect a surge in onesies – even for weddings? She sure wears ‘em well.

Solange said to US Vogue of the wedding: “Everyone I worked with on the wedding are friends who I love. Everything was a labor of love.” Congrats, Solange!
