We may have just celebrated International Women's Day, but that doesn't mean that you have to wait until next year to commend all of the amazing women doing amazing things. You can celebrate female empowerment anywhere and at any time - just have a read through Grazia's recommendations below for some inspiration on how to do so.

1. GO to an all-female networking event

Meeting inspiring women is a great way to celebrate female empowerment. And with lots of female networking events out there (both free and ticketed), it couldn't be easier to expand your friendship circle. You can search on Eventbrite to see which types of networking events are on in the areas where you live. We recommend looking for things like mentoring groups, women-led workshops and talks, and networking drinks.

2. WATCH the female directed film Lady Bird

This coming-of-age female story is one that a lot of women can relate to - it touches on topics such as your education, your relationship with your mother, teen friendships, and fancying the most unattainable person in your year (we've all been there). And what's more, it was directed by the inimitable Greta Gerwig, which makes it all the more worth a watch.

3. BOYCOTT the tradition of wearing uncomfortable underwear

Let's face it: nobody likes uncomfortable, ill-fitting underwear. So if us women have to wear a bra every single day, we at least want it to feel like second skin. Cue 'Zero Feel', the ultra comfortable lingerie collection by sloggi.

This innovative brand's lightweight bras have been designed with a woman's needs and wants in mind - they're practical, snug, liberating, and are available in six must-have colours. What makes them different from other bras is that they have no wires, no seams, and are laser cut, meaning they're invisible under clothing (the dream, we know). Basically, the Zero Feel collection means that you no longer have to suffer to be in style. Right, we're throwing out our restrictive underwear as we speak...

4. READ the Feminist Fight Club

The Feminist Fight Club by Jessica Bennett is a book that every woman should own. It's a witty, must-read survival manual for the sexist workplace, and will provide you with an arsenal of weapons that will help you fight patriarchy day-to-day. Trust us: you'll want to read and then re-read this hilarious book.

5. LISTEN to The Guilty Feminist and The High Low podcasts

These are two podcasts that every woman should have downloaded onto her mobile. The first - The Guilty Feminist podcast - comedically discusses the interesting topics that all 21st century feminists agree and disagree on. The second - The High Low podcast - is brought to you by Dolly Alderton and Pandora Sykes, and takes the form of a weekly pop-culture and news podcast. We love.

6. HOST a get together

The best way to celebrate female empowerment is with your nearest and dearest. So, why not throw a small get together dinner with your closest friends who you admire and who inspire you. It will be an evening full of laughter, love, and a whole lot of wine.

7. SUPPORT other women

There are lots of empowered women doing amazing things, so why not take some time to celebrate and support their achievements? You can do this by splurging on a new outfit created by your favourite female designer, watching a new film directed by a woman, or even admiring some artwork that celebrates the female form. Go, go, go!
