Sienna Miller wearing a nice outfit is not news at this point – the woman just has a knack of making any and all clothes look fantastic. What is interesting, at least in my humble opinion, are those moments when the actor takes something from the high street and uses it to form an outfit that is not just excellent but feels attainable, too. Recently, Miller did this with the help of Sézane's trench coat, which she loves so much she has in two different colours. Even more recently, Miller fulfilled the dreams of noughties magazine editors everywhere by constructing the perfect day-to-night outfit (that old chestnut!) using a Mango dress.

The dress in question is from Mango's collaboration with Victoria Beckham, a range for which Miller has previously shown her love in the form of the trench coat, which she wore last spring in London. A white slip dress with ruffle details, it has a low back and decidedly bridal vibes which, in the wrong setting, could feel a bit... much. Miller, in her wisdom, clearly understood this and so, for a party in London to celebrate PR guru Fran Cutler's birthday, threw a fuzzy oversized jumper (8pm Official's Denebola Furry Sweater, to be precise) over the top and added knee high boots from Loeffler Randall and Prada's leather tote bag.

Equal parts glamorous and effortless, this is exactly the outfit my brain has been trying to conjure every day when I've realised I've either undressed (it's much colder than I anticipated) or worn too many clothes (the sun suddenly appears at 5pm after a day of grey clouds and I start overheating in my layers). As you'd expect, the dress is long gone (although you can rent it from ByRotation), as is Miller's actual knit, but I have found plenty of similar alternatives that will allow you to enjoy your own moment of smugness when you arrive at any social occasion safe in the knowledge that your outfit is just right.

Very similar to Sienna Miller's VB x Mango dress, this silk style has delicate straps and a draped neckline – just throw your oversized knit over the top.

There are some sizes left of Miller's actual boots, which I have also owned for the past five years and can confirm they go with (almost) everything in my wardrobe. I wear them all year-round, too.

An investment bag that will never go out of style, Prada's tote has largely sold out in most colours but, if you're quick, you may still be able to get your hands on Miller's grey style.
