Following months of speculation that a split was imminent, Beyonce and Jay Z seemed to have weathered the storm that began in May when leaked footage of an elevator scuffle through threw a grenade into their carefully curated marriage.

In September, Grazia exclusively revealed that the couple had renewed their vows, with People magazine confirming our story soon after. And last week Beyoncé, 33, and Jay, 44, were once again under the spotlight after it was revealed that a new tell-all book threatens to expose their best kept secrets.

The author, J. Randy Taraborrelli, has previously written exposes on Michael Jackson and Madonna, and is said to be conducting interviews with the couple’s inner circle including family members, bodyguards, make-up artists, hairstylists, old producers and friends. According to one source the announcement of such a thorough unauthorised biography is ‘Beyoncé’s worst nightmare’.

‘They’ve worked hard on their marriage and overcome a lot of their problems, but this book has the potential to destroy them by painting their marriage as a sham,’ a source said.

Claims said to be included in the book include the revelation of a ‘split’ and drama surrounding Rihanna. The expose is also said to detail an explosive backstage showdown during their On The Run tour, as well as examine rumours that their daughter was born via a surrogate.

Melanie Bromley chief news correspondent at E! news and E! online told Grazia: ‘They have faced the most public assault of accusations about the stability of their marriage and whether they will last and yet they have managed to come out on top. In some ways this has been their annus horribilis but in other ways they are stronger than ever.
