In partnership with Clarks
Saturday is the most versatile day of a week. You need to be ready for lunch with friends, drinks with dates and be able to run from one to the other with grace and style. We’ve teamed up with Clarks to bring you an off-duty day in the life of Shopping Editor- Polly Knight. After all, we do most of our easy-breezy walking on the weekends.
10am: Wake up, (yes I love a lie in on the weekend) make a HUGE mug of tea, and back to bed for an hour or, so catch up on Insta/Twitter/News and fashion news…
11am: Get ready, now my Saturday outfit has to take me from lunch with friends to drinks in the evening, so it has to be comfortable but dressy enough for the evening. So I’m going for a white tee, with leather trousers and my silver Hidi Holly trainers, my style is quite low key and minimal, you can always find me in my staple colours, black, white, navy and grey. I’m totally a trainer’s girl, I wear them to work pretty much every day and always at the weekend they are a wardrobe staple for me.
1pm: Meet my friends for lunch, we usually try and get a brunch in the diary, but considering I love my lie-ins they let me push it back to lunch. It’s the perfect chance for us to catch up and get a de-brief of what’s been going on in our weeks. We always try to go somewhere we haven’t been before, but this week it’s our old faithful Hoi Polloi in Shoreditch, I love it in there as they often have a string quartet playing, which is so nice a chilled over a gossip with friends.
2.30pm: Now time to aimlessly wander around East London, picking up inspiration from everywhere from stores to street style.
3.30pm: Coffee pit-stop, and flower run, I LOVE fresh flowers, my favourites are white Anemones.
5pm: I say bye to my friends and head off to Cowshed in Shoreditch to get my nails done.
6.30pm: I have a date, (see I told you my outfit needs to be versatile) A quick outfit change (lucky I carry a big bag) I take my hair out of my high pony tail and throw on a chunky oversize knit with my skinny leather trousers, and trade out my Hidi Holly trainers or these grey Grace Eva heels (grey accessories are a HUGE trend for SS17) and a perfect outfit elevator.
Top tip, always keep your favourite shade of red lipstick in your bag, adding a splash of colour just adds a little something extra to your look and viola date ready.
**7pm: **Then we head into London’s Soho, for Prosecco and Pasta at Polpo, it’s my favourite food combination.
**9pm: **After a leisurely dinner, and with my flowers still in hand we head to 68 and Boston, for a glass or too more of Prosecco.
**11.45pm: **It’s a last minute dash for the last train home (another reason I need to wear comfortable heels, as I’m always running for the train)
