Saint Laurent Spring Summer 2015: 5 Things We Loved
SAINT-LAURENT-SPRING-SUMMER-2015-SHOW
From signature sequins and Le Smoking tuxedos to leather and suede separates, the 1970s were in the air at Saint Laurent. That was the decade during which that house’s namesake rose to fame after all. Here are five things that we loved...
1. Sequins
A Saint Laurent signature, constellations of them shimmered across mini dresses and formed a more orderly queue on blazers.
2. Leather
This tough material played an important role in Slimane’s collection - mini skirts, coats, jackets crop tops and jumpsuits were all made from jet-black supple leather driving home that Seventies edge.
3. Boaters
These attention grabbing hats were either brightest red, teal or simple but effective black.
4. Le Smoking tuxedos
With wide lapels, a straight leg and a high waist - this season, the famous suit was accessorized with a turban. Yes, a turban. Yves Saint Laurent loved a turban and now so does Mr Slimane, clearly.
5. Skinny Scarves
They came a variety of colours and patterns, from leopard print to sassy and very French red and black polka dots.
