He’s the Peckham-based designer who’s dressed red carpet royalty, including J.Lo, Kendall Jenner and Cardi B, and, incidentally, created one of the biggest ‘wow’ moments in London Fashion Week history when the Queen joined his front row. Now Richard Quinn is ticking another ‘first’ off his list. As of Wednesday, his eponymous brand is launching a virtual store on Depop.
You might have used the shopping app - a hit with millennials and Snapchat natives; one in three 15-24 year-olds has downloaded Depop - to buy one-off vintage gems or handmade accessories at purse-friendly prices. Now you’ll be able to score his signature Quinn florals from the comfort of your sofa.
The collection has all the punchy florals long-time fans will hope to find and prices start from £45 for hats and phone cases. The rose-splattered sequined slip is a splurge at £230, but is worth every penny for its sweet spot length (mid-calf), striking silhouette and the fact that it’s made from end-of-roll fabrics from a previous catwalk collection. The black umbrella, with a leopard-spotted interior, is yours for £220, while the reusable metal water bottles are £55. The flower-printed tights, a Quinn classic, are £85.
Whether you have a Cardi B moment in your Quinn is entirely up to you. Just make sure you’re quick off the mark.
