Cast your mind back to September 2017. Difficult, I know, given that it was a pre-Covid world in which street style was still alive and well – and influencing what a lot of us wore, to a certain extent. And that September, all anyone wanted to wear was Rejina Pyo's Greta dress. In pink, white or even rose print, the dress was seen on every other show-goer that season. At almost £700, however, it wasn't exactly accessible for every other person. This is why news of Rejina Pyo's archive sale, which launches today, is very good news indeed.
The dress in question is on sale for £278 (the rose print version is £221). The designer's similarly popular Jamie dress, in a bright, sunny shade of yellow, is reduced from £650 to £325. In fact, Pyo has included 500 pieces in this, her biggest ever sale, which spans autumn/winter 2013 to spring/summer of this year.
There's also a wealth of wear-forever coats, just in time for the new season, as well as shoes, knitwear and jewellery, all with up to 70% off. Even the designer's Nane bags are on sale, which are one of her signature creations and have been carried by Meghan Markle.
Of course, so many brands are enduring a tough time at present, so it feels strangely uncomfortable to bask in the glory of a sale purchase. But that's why an archive sale is such a good idea – it allows designers to free themselves of excess stock from previous seasons, while hopefully generating more sales for their business.
There are jeans for £81, cashmere jumpers, wool jumpsuits and even Pyo's stylish take on gold hoops. It's the perfect opportunity to invest in something that really will be in your wardrobe forever, and which you'll love to wear year after year.
