I’m not ashamed to admit that, when it comes to shopping high street brands, I can be a creature of habit. While I’ve been well aware of Reiss and its influence – it’s loved by a host of famous women including the Princess of Wales and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – it hadn’t quite reached my own wardrobe. That was until I saw the spring/summer collection for this year, however, which made me want to replace all of my clothes at once.
The first thing I noticed was the versatility of the pieces. From glorious gowns fit for a summer event to wide leg trousers which would work for the office and dressed-down weekends, there’s not only a great range of items in the summer collection but pieces which can be worn in different ways. Case in point? The Tallie satin halterneck dress, which I was drawn to thanks to its beautiful peachy hue.

Worn on its own, the low back, suspended from delicate straps, make it ideal for dreamy holiday evenings or destination weddings. Given that I have no such plans (so far) for this year, I would try it with an oversized jacket to dial back the all-out glam and make it feel like something I could wear for a friend’s birthday. I’d also try with leather jackets to give it an edge.

While I was also obsessed by the ruffle dresses, linen midis and cape back maxis in Reiss’s collection, I am trying to diversify my wardrobe somewhat and have, as a result, been on the hunt for the perfect suit. Tailoring is of one Reiss’s cornerstones and this season the designs couldn’t be chicer. The Devon wide leg trousers make it feel contemporary, while the matching blazer has the perfect fit – not too fitted, not too oversized. Both are crafted from a linen blend, which gives the suit all the ease associated with the material but an added weight, which ensures it fits well but avoids quite so many creases. I’d also advocate for the pink suit, which is now at the top of my wish list.

Aside from full looks, there are also individual pieces which will help to elevate everyday outfits. One of my personal favourites is the Tia Metallic Vest, which I’ve been wearing on its own with jeans and flip flops (v. summer 2025) and tucked into midi skirts with denim jackets. A mention must also go to the Lexie Ruffle Mini Dress, available in an ethereal shade of pale pink. It serves up the boho vibes so prevalent this season, but which until now I’d been avoiding as I couldn’t quite figure out how to do it in a grown-up way. Well, this is it.

Straight leg jeans, classic T-shirts, sleeveless blazers, printed playsuits and glossy leather sandals are all other pieces I’ve got my eye on, not to mention a silky jumpsuit in the most incredible dark teal green; it would make for a stylish wedding guest outfit that’s a bit more interesting than your average floral dress.
As a creature of habit, it will now be tough not to buy all of my clothes from Reiss, such is the greatness of its current collection. Whether you’re facing a summer of formal events, need some hot weather workwear or simply want some super-chic holiday clothes, you need only look in one place. Given everything else we have to think about right now, I can’t imagine anything better.
