All Hail Reese Witherspoon’s ’60s-Inspired Beauty Look

Reese Witherspoon Is A '60s Dream Girl

Reese Witherspoon stepped out this week with a picture-perfect look straight out of the 60s. Bumped up low ponytail? (could this be that Kate Middleton's sparked a trend? I mean, probably) Check. Bambi-esque long lashes? Check. Pretty pink lip? Check. Reese's look perfectly complimented her cute choice of frock, and was a breath of fresh air after all the faux-undercuts and deep berry lips we've been seeing. Trust Ms Legally Blonde to bring back a more girlie look.

As Reese was kitted out in Elle Woods' favourite colour, it would have been easy for this look to go into total overkill, and look a little too plastic fantastic. But the smokey eye adds a little modernity with its bronzed tones, while the polished pony keeps everything sleek and sophisticated. We're beauty crushing, hard.

If you're keen to try this look at home, you could experiment with a few of Reese's elements. For example, the bumped-up low pony is certainly on the beauty agenda now, and it's easily recreated with a little teasing at the crown and securing with a clear hair elastic. Or, play with a glossy pink lip, while upping the ante with a taupe and gold toned smokey eye. If nothing else, layer on the mascara, put on some flats and tell everyone it's all so Twiggy, darling.
