Last season the unlikely street style movement was maternity dressing. Eva Chen, Yasmin Sewell and the pint-sized Russian editors Miroslava Duma and Natasha Goldenberg were all expecting and delivered A* maternity style. This season it's gone from bumps on the Sartorialist to bumps on the catwalk.

In Milan, Dolce & Gabbana was a tribute to motherhood with models and children walking to Edoardo Bennato’s Viva La Mamma and The Spice Girls’ Mama. Among the model line-up was a very pregnant Bianca Balti, who showed off her bump in a dusty pink pencil dress.

This season, more than ever, bumps are having a moment on the runway. Caroline Winberg and Jacquetta Wheeler, who are both pregnant, walked in the Temperley London show during London Fashion Week. Alice Temperley said to Grazia Daily backstage of having two bumps in her show: "They are beautiful and friends, so why not show them when they're pregnant? We all get pregnant. The brilliant thing about that evening dress is it looks so good on a bump, and I love being pregnant so I just thought it'd be nice to have them in the show and show them off."

Caroline Winberg also walked at Naomi Campbell's Fashion for Relief show on the night before London Fashion Week. You know the phrase, three times makes a trend. Or in our opinion, one time by Karl Lagerfeld makes a trend.

Karl's Chanel Couture bride last July was heavily pregnant. He cast Ashleigh Good for the prestigious Chanel spot when she was in her third trimester.

Of course they aren't the only mums to be to grace the catwalk while expecting. One of the most iconic images from Jourdan Dunn's career is when she walked at Jean Paul Gaultier heavily pregnant. Eva Herzigova walked at a show in the native Czech Republic while expecting, Raffaella Fico walked during Milan Fashion Week when she was six months pregnant and Miranda Kerr walked at Balenciaga when expecting her son Flynn.
