It was the inimitable burlesque performer Dita Von Teese who once said, “Lingerie is not about seducing men, it’s about embracing womanhood”, and we couldn’t agree more. Who can deny that exquisite feeling of slipping into your most luxurious underwear, whether it’s the base layer of your ensemble or the only layer that you intend to wear?

There’s only one thing that could make the experience even more pleasurable, and that’s knowing that your underwear is also kind to the planet, and that’s where Scandale éco-lingerie comes in.

Scandale éco-lingerie is a lingerie brand with a difference. They’ve dedicated themselves to reinventing the lingerie game with the planet, and the people on it, first and foremost in their mind and in their operations. And how are they doing that?

They use 100% eco fabrics which help to preserve our planet’s resources, using 55% less carbon, 50% water, and 20% less chemical input (and that's just for starters). Their delicious designs come in galloon lace, made from 78% recycled materials, and their covetable guipure is also made from 87% recycled materials.

This conscientiousness comes down to the very details of the brand’s offering. Scandale éco-lingerie’s stunning, exclusive embroidery, for example, is created using 82% recycled materials while the very thread is made from recycled nylon from yarn wastes.

Even their packaging is responsible – they avoid single use plastics and use plant-based compostable product bags and recyclable paper mailer.

And that’s not all.

Scandale éco-lingerie only works with partners who care, educate, and empower the people who are making you lingerie, such as the factory works and certified garment manufacturers. They’re also a member of BSR, a global organisation of sustainable businesses to build a more sustainable world through HERproject. They’ve also partnered with Anew Studios to collect the excess fabric from their cutting tables in order to upcycle it and give it a whole new life somewhere else.

See? They really are just that good.

Of course, Scandale éco-lingerie’s bold approach to pushing the boundaries of sustainability comes as no surprise – those already familiar with the brand will remember its penchant for sartorial innovation and changing the game.

When they were founded in 1932, Scandale éco-lingerie turned latex liquid into latex yarn so that that they could create the first elastic and lightweight girdle, transforming women’s underwear of the day and freeing them from tight and uncomfortable corsetry. And then again in 1960, they were the very first underwear brand to create lingerie with Lycra. See? Innovation is in their threads.

And if that isn’t enough to tempt you, we’d be remiss not to mention that not only will Scandale éco-lingerie make your underwear drawer sustainable, but they’ll also give it that timeless, incomparable French elegance – an elegance so undeniable that Mr Christian Dior himself collaborated with Scandale in the 1950s, following the introduction of his iconic New Look.

Sustainable, French, and affordable? Lingerie never looked or felt so good.
