Just when we thought the dust had settled on the Twitter row between Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus has just reignited the drama. This could make for one very awkward edition of the MTV VMA's on Sunday.

Last month, Nicki hit headlines after she tweeted her disappointment at not being nominated in the VMA's Video Of The Year Category, despite the huge success of her Anaconda video. She then became embroiled in a Twitter spat with Taylor Swift after the singer thought Nicki's comments were directed at her, as she received a nod for her* Bad Blood* video [scroll down for a refresher of what went down]. And now, Miley - who just so happens to be the host of the awards ceremony - has blasted Nicki for her "anger" in addressing the VMAs nominations.

She told The New York Times: "If you do things with an open heart and you come at things with love, you would be heard and I would respect your statement. But I don't respect your statement because of the anger that came with it."

"And it's not anger like, 'Guys, I'm frustrated about some things that are a bigger issue.' You made it about you. Not to sound like a b**ch, but that's like, 'Eh, I didn't get my VMA'... If you want to make it about race, there's a way you could do that. "But don't make it just about yourself. Say: 'This is the reason why I think it's important to be nominated. There's girls everywhere with this body type.'"

Though, she's nothing if not fair - Miley has also expressed her disregard for Taylor too, labelling her Bad Blood video "revenge violence".

Like we said: expect very awkward viewing for Sunday's ceremony.

Earlier we wrote...

She might personify #SquadGoals but Taylor Swift has gone and gotten herself embroiled in a Twitter spat with the one and only Nicki Minaj. Uh oh.

Minaj tweeted her disappointment at being snubbed for a VMA in the Video Of The Year category and blasted MTV writing: ‘If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.'

Taylor, 25, seemed to think the tweet was about her and replied: 'I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.'

The Anaconda singer's reply suggested that Taylor had missed the point: 'Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this.'

She also retweeted a fan who wrote: ‘'@Taylorswift stop using "support all girls" as an excuse to not be critical of racist media that benefits and glorifies you.'

Taylor tried to backtrack on her tweet and asked Nicki to share in her moment, should she scoop the gong on the night. 'If I win, please come up with me!! You're invited to any stage I'm ever on.'

Taylor’s Bad Blood video was nominated while Nicki’s controversial Anaconda video failed to get recognition. In May, Bad Blood, which featured many of Taylor’s A-list pals, broke video streaming records set by Nicki's Anaconda last August.

Anaconda was undoubtedly one of the most talked-about videos of last year with the eye-popping sequence sparking countless memes, covers and article inches.

Alluding to this Nicki wrote: ‘U couldn’t go on social media w/o seeing ppl doing the cover art, choreo, outfits for Halloween… an impact like that & no VOTY nomination?’

Everyone from Kim Kardashian to Bruno Mars waded into the conversation which took over the Twittersphere. So are you #TeamNicki Or #TeamTaylor ?
