Part of my job is spotting trends, and usually, I steer clear of anything that would disrupt my personal style. Animal prints have never been my thing, but as autumn rolls in, they’re impossible to ignore. I recently gasped at Next's Mango Zebra Print Waistcoat that sold out instantly, and now, another print has captured my attention: cow print. I’m officially a convert.

You’ll probably see me in this cow print zip-through jacket as the weather turns crisp and chilly. This style is already a fan favourite and starting to run low in sizes, so it’s worth adding to your cart now. The soft, furry fabric and relaxed fit make it perfect for layering, while the abstract brown-and-white spots feel playful without ever being over-the-top. I’d style it with plain black trousers and loafers to let the jacket take centre stage.

These cow print clogs are another autumn favourite. If you want a subtler way to wear cow print, these slip-on mules are perfect for indoor or outdoor wear.

These feature a smooth leather upper, buckle detailing, a rounded toe, and Forever Comfort® cushioning in the footbed, all on a durable rubber sole. One happy reviewer even compared them to Birkenstocks; they have a similar feel and are half the price.

Apart from these cow-print styles I’m loving, there are a couple of other Next new arrivals that are destined to sell out. Honestly, the brand has nailed early autumn dressing this year. Earthy tones, chocolate browns, burgundy, fiery reds, and rust, all the shades that instantly put you in an autumn state of mind. Add in checks, stripes, and a touch of texture, and you’ve got a collection that makes the seasonal switch feel effortless.

Another autumn essential we’ll be seeing everywhere? These light, luxurious pure-linen trousers. They feature a wide-leg silhouette, shirred detailing, side pockets, and an elasticated waistband — perfect paired with a cosy cardigan.

Lace is still having its moment, and Next has completely nailed it; this trend is sticking around well into autumn. From cami tops to this satin skirt, these pieces add the touch of drama your pre-fall wardrobe has been craving. Pair with an oversized tee or a tailored blazer for an effortlessly chic, yet statement-making look that carries you through the season.

Lace isn’t just for delicate cami tops anymore. This satin midi skirt is proof that nightwear-inspired chic has officially taken over the daytime wardrobe. Next has delivered three neutral, ultra-chic colourways, but I’m completely sold on the luxe champagne hue. The lace-trimmed finish feels effortlessly sophisticated, while the silky fabric glides with every step. Pair it with a lace cami for a monochrome dream, or throw on a chunky knit when the temperature drops, you’ll be nailing pre-fall layering like a pro.

And can we talk totes? Oversized is still very much king, just ask Sienna Miller, who was recently spotted with her Gucci Giglio tote. Next’s take on the trend is equally chic and so practical, pairing effortlessly with denim or layered autumnal looks. This chocolate brown tote will be your go-to all season for work, errands, or literally lugging your entire life around.

This bag is the epitome of ‘I packed everything…and still look chic.’ It’s rich chocolate suede, structured for polish but soft enough for real life, whether you're commuting, brunching, or running a million errands. Spacious and elegant? Yes, please.

Next’s new season picks are all the wardrobe essentials your feed has been screaming about; now it’s time to make them your own. Keep scrolling for my personal edit of must-have pieces, the ones worth bending your budget for.

An autumn staple, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got a trusty pair of chocolate brown trousers in your wardrobe. I’d wear these with loafers and a cardigan, or a white tee, scarf, and oversized jacket.

Honestly, these are probably the comfiest wide-leg trousers you’ll find. Perfect for moving around and feeling completely comfortable while still looking put together for autumn days.

Consider these the wide-leg jeans you’ll build your whole wardrobe around. Floor-skimming and effortlessly slouchy, they strike that perfect balance between laid-back and polished. Sure, conventional wisdom says to avoid them in puddle season, but honestly? We’re not listening. For now, wear them with tanks, oversized shirts, and strappy sandals; when the first crisp breeze hits, switch to chunky knits and ankle boots.

Next

Another classic autumn piece. I love chocolate browns from different brands, COS has some swoonworthy new in autumn pieces, but Next nails it with both price and quality. Dress it down for casual days or style it up for smarter outfits; the tone is sophisticated and effortlessly versatile.

Similar to Ganni’s suiting cotton-blend maxi skirt, the drop waist elongates the upper body while creating a relaxed flare from the hip down, adding just enough structure to be especially flattering on petite frames. The midi-to-maxi length grazes the ankles, offering an elegant, versatile silhouette. Skimming the body without clinging and fully lined for smooth, fluid movement, it’s effortless to wear. Pair it with a tucked-in shirt, a sleeveless top, or a lightweight knit for a polished, fashion-forward look that feels intentional yet easy.

If, like me, you want a bit of height but walk a lot, leave the chunky heels behind and go for these. They’re simple, black, and so comfortable it feels like you’re wearing flats.

This one keeps you warm and cosy all autumn. Simple, sophisticated, and easy to throw on with everything.

For when you want extra height, these Mary Jane platform heels are perfect. Stylish, comfy, and easy to wear all day, they’ll quickly become a go-to in your autumn rotation.

If you’re obsessed with co-ords and a little Italian flair, this one’s for you. This relaxed short-sleeve shirt, crafted from the softest cotton-linen blend, features a playful Napoli-inspired print, think vibrant canned tomatoes, perfect for giving your wardrobe instant holiday vibes. The crisp collar and button-down front keep it polished, while the lightweight fabric keeps things breezy and effortless.

Team it with the matching shorts for a full-on coordinated look, or tuck into high-waist jeans for a casual city stroll that still feels like a mini getaway.

If you’re after summer workwear you’ll reach for year after year, this is it. I’m obsessed with this blazer’s versatility; you can throw it over a lace cami, layer it with a simple tee, or style it with a midi dress. The possibilities? Endless. Made from a lightweight, breathable linen blend, it’s the kind of piece that takes you from office meetings to post-work cocktails without missing a beat.

Complete the set with the matching wide-leg trousers and you’ve nailed effortless sophistication. No overthinking, no styling stress, just instant polish from head to toe.

Autumn’s on the horizon, but who says summer has to be over? This rust-brown balloon-sleeve midi dress is the perfect in-between: seasonal yet effortlessly breezy. The elasticated waist cinches just right, giving you a flattering silhouette, while those dramatic sleeves add a touch of theatrical flair (I’m all for puff sleeves, life’s too short for boring sleeves). It also comes in a khaki green check. Pair with boots for a cosy autumnal vibe, or keep it light with sandals while the sun’s still out, either way, it’s a total winner.

These heels are the definition of elevated simplicity. The rich tan-brown shade works with practically everything, while the scrunched detail gives a subtle nod to ballet flats without losing any sophistication. Perfect for work, brunch, or a casual date night, you’ll soon wonder how you ever lived without them.

This might just be the cutest quilted denim on the planet. If you’re into a quilted jacket (same) but fancy it in denim, consider your search over. The floral stitching? Pure luxe energy. The collarless cut? Totally modern. It’s the kind of layering piece you’ll fling over dresses, tees, or maxi skirts and somehow always look like you planned your outfit days in advance.

Stripes aren’t just ‘in’, they’re basically the moment. And this green-and-white version? She’s the calm, quietly confident sister in a world full of loud prints. Tuck her into wide-leg trousers for that I-woke-up-like-this polish, or throw on with jeans for a weekend look that still says, ‘I have my life together.’

This one’s giving ‘cool-girl who always knows the best brunch spot’ energy. Lightweight and floaty with just the right amount of detail, think tiered hem and a waist tie that flatters without trying too hard. Wear it solo in a heatwave or layer under a cardigan when autumn starts lurking.

Slip-on chic without even pretending to try. These woven leather mules bring serious designer vibes to your everyday, coffee runs, office days, impromptu rooftop drinks. Comfort meets style in the best way, and trust me, once you start wearing them, you’ll forget your other shoes exist.

Minimalist? Yes. Boring? Never. This black bandeau is all clean lines and smooth, soft-touch fabric, elevated by subtle hardware detailing. Perfect for layering under blazers, pairing with high-waist trousers, or giving your satin skirts a sleek, sculpted finish. It’s the kind of top that quietly does a lot.
