PARTY BEAT: Inside Mulberry’s ‘Out of Towners’ Party With Cressida Bonas

Oh, it is so exciting to be in Hollywood at the very beginning of Awards Season! The magic and excitement and glamour in the air. And on Friday night, the wonderful people of Mulberry and Industry Bigwig Charles Finch rounded up all the Brits in town – plus a few others – and held a heavenly bash by the pool at the legendary Chateau Marmont.

They wined us, they dined us and they even treated us to an exclusive preview of the very talented Miss Cressida Bonas’ new creative collaboration with the British fashion label. We can’t say too much yet, but wowee can that girl dance. Not just a pretty face, or the ex of a Prince, but a graceful and talented Tinkerbell on her tootsies. There’s also a fleeting appearance from Freddie Fox in it too. He’s pretty hot.

And there were some other notable Brits too, namely a certain Rosamund Pike – up for Best Actress for Gone Girl at the Golden Globes – she’s taking it in her stride and was very cool - and Downton girls Joanne Froggatt and Laura Carmichael. ‘I just love it out here,’ Laura told us over a glass of bubbly by the pool. ‘It’s just so fun to get to dress up in a pretty fancy dress. I don’t think it’s in the British have it in their culture as much as the Americans, who have the whole Prom thing. I just love to have fun with it.’

Meanwhile Poppy Delevigne made a fleeting appearance with her charming hubby, James Cook. Cara is in town, but had a – rare – night in we were told. No doubt be seeing more of her in the days to come. The Brit lads were out in force too: new LA resident, Mr James Corden, Dominic West and James Nesbitt were all on fine form.

Indeed the whole party had rather an air of the Friday before a wedding, when everyone gets terribly excited and peaks too soon. But this is Hollywood folks, and they party’s gonna keep on raging right through til Monday morning. Until then.
